Lupus Foundation Walk @ Piedmont Park (Georgia Chapter)

Saturday, May 8th, Thousands took to Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Georgia for the annual #WalkForLupusNow event aimed at benefiting the nearly 55,000 Georgians and many more nationwide that are affected by the illness. I was solicited along with DJ E-Class to provide the soundtrack for the event as participants geared up to make this the best year that the Georgia Chapter of the Lupus Foundation of America has ever seen. Chapter President Maria Myler along with this year's walk chair Jed Selkowitz among others, helped put together an amazing event which attracted a wide range of working professionals and even a few celebrities.

Multi-platinum producer Dallas Austin (and Rowdy Industries executive Angie Romasanta) walked for Shanika whom he had not met until the day of the event. Jay Dilla's uncle led a team called the Jay Walkers in honor of the late lyricist. Wanda Shelley from Simmons-Shelley Entertainment came to show support as an 8-year Lupus survivor. And, although he had just returned from Japan with a twisted ankle he received during the tour, Disturbing Tha Peace recording artist Lil' Scrappy came (on crutches) to display his support for a family member of his driver who is currently living with Lupus. Needless to say, Atlanta turned out in a big way for an extremely important cause. Special thanks to Jamal Coleman.

Please visit www.lupus.org and www.lfaga.org (Georgia Chapter website) for ways in which you can contribute to finding the cure.
